The Road To The Grand Finals starts next week. Here is everything you need to know before going in.

Information

  • Quarter & Semi Finals are from July 11th thru July 21st and will be held at the Blizzard Arena in Los Angeles.
  • Grand Finals will be on July 27th & 28th and will take place at the Barclay Center in New York City
  • Top finishers of each division will compete in a two-game Series
  • Each Series is a best-of-three Matches
  • Matches will be best-of-five Maps
  • First team to win 2 matches, wins the series.
  • First place teams from each Division earn a bye in the first round
  • After Quarterfinals, bracket is reseeded by Regular Season record

What does that mean? Each team in the playoffs will play a series of matches, think of the World Series in baseball. Its not a one off game, but a series of matches to determine who the better team is and like the World Series. The team who wins 3 games first wins the series. Once games have concluded, and we find out who is going to the Semifinals. Brackets will be determined by the teams regular season record.

What are we competing for you ask?

The Prize Pool

World Champion: $1,000,000
Runner-Up: $400,000
3rd Place: $100,000
4th Place: $100,000
5th Place: $50,000
6th Place: $50,000

My prediction? As much as I would love Boston to win this whole thing. I do not think they will. Stage 4 was really really tough for them, and they are in a bad place right now. I think if they keep Carpe at bay, they will take Philly. But I do not see them beating any of the other teams.
I personally think that NYXL is going to win this whole thing. Five of their six starting players are starters on the Korea World Cup team (more on that later). JJonak is the best support\DPS player in the world (and my pick for MVP), SBB is the best Tracer in the game. Mix that with Libero and Pine. You have an unstoppable force. They have been beatin' before. But every one of their losses has been very close. They have never been dominated, but they have dominated almost every team in the league. But hey, anything can happen.
