Nintendo made a surprise announcement about a 30 minute Nintendo Direct show casing some upcoming titles for both the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Switch.

Lets begin with the 3DS.

First off, WarioWare Gold. 300 different micro games featuring some new ones and some returning ones. It is the biggest entry in the series to date, and will use the gyro controls on the 3DS console. Will be released on August 3rd.

Dillion's Dead-Heat Breakers. Action packed tower defense game. Will feature the ability to use your own and your friend's Mii character. Demo will be out May 10th. Game will release on May 24th on the Eshop.

A Nintendo DS classic is being remade for the 3DS. Mario + Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey will be coming out some time in 2019. Featuring a remake of the original game, Mario + Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and an original story featuring Bowser's son. Bowser Jr.

They announced the release date for Detective Pikachu along with the aiimbo. The game will be released on March 23rd on the eshop and the amiibo will be released in stores on the same day. I am actually very surprised this is getting a state side release.

Another classic is being remade. Luigi's Mansion is getting a remake for the 3DS featuring a new boss rush mode. Luigi's Mansion will be released later this year.

As a 3DS owner, I am very glad that Nintendo is going to continue support, at least through 2019. There were even some 3DS announcements mixed in with the Switch announcements.

Next up, the Nintendo Switch.

First off, they announced free DLC for Kirby Star Allies. Called "Legacy Characters" these are characters from past Kirby games. Pack 1 will include Rick, Kine, Coo, Marx, and Gooey. Legacy Characters will be released on March 23rd. Full game comes out March 16th.

Splatoon 2 is getting an expansion pack. Set to be released later this year, its going to feature a new character and a single player campaign. You can pre-purchase it now on the eshop and get some new items.

An HD remake of Okami is making its way to the Switch. Coming this summer Okami HD will feature a few different ways to play. First off, in handled mode, you can use the touch screen to draw your symbols and in docked mode you can use the Joy-Cons motion controls to draw the images onto your TV. Will be on the eshop some time during the summer.

The upcoming new Square-Enix RPG game got its release date. Octopath Traveler will be released on July 13th.

A port of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is coming to both the Switch and the 3DS on July 13th.

Undertale was announced for the Switch. Will be released later on this year.

It has been rumored for 2 months now, but was officially announced today. South Park: The Fractured But Whole is making its way to the Nintendo Switch April 24th along with all of its DLC being available.

The Crash Bandicoot Trilogy is making its way onto the Switch July 10th. It features HD remakes of the first 3 Crash games which have never been on a Nintendo console before.

I am going to stop here. All of this stuff is great and yeah South Park. That will totally be a day one purchase for me. But the biggest announcement was made during the direct. I honestly thought they were going to make this during E3, but I was very wrong.

Smash 4 is making its way onto the Nintendo Switch.... This year! Something people have been asking for since the day the Nintendo Switch was released. Smash 4 is being ported over to the Switch and 2 characters have already been shown. Both the Inkling Girl and Boy from Splatoon are making their way in Smash. Are there going to be more? We have no idea. But its coming ladies and gentleman.

And here is the trailer!

I am very excited. YES!

What other characters do you want in the Smash game? Person, we better get Simon Belmont.

This is James with Game Fix. Game on everybody!
