Super Smash Bros Gets A New Character

Today Nintendo presented a small Smash Bros direct, mainly focusing on the newest character being added to the Nintendo brawler.

The rumor mill went crazy with names. Is it going to be Doom Guy? Tracer? Yet another Fire Emblem character?! Nope, it was none of those.

Much to the shock of, well pretty much everybody. The 77th fighter to be released is;

Did we just get April Fooled? Steve from Minecraft. Yes, a character owned by Microsoft is going to be coming to Smash Bros Ultimate.

It's not just Steve from Minecraft either, Alex, Enderman, and even the Zombies are making appearances in Smash Ultimate. We currently have no idea if the others are going to be palette swaps of Steve or if they are going to take up their own slots.

This continues the strange relationship that Microsoft and Nintendo have, as Minecraft is owned by Microsoft, but is still released and updated on other platforms. Nintendo's version of Minecraft actually has exclusive Nintendo-themed skins that the other platforms do not have.

We do not have a release date on Steve, but we do know that he will be $6 to download or you can purchase Fighter pass 2 for $30. Fighter pass 2 will contain all of the newest characters being released.

Tomorrow at 10:30 AM EST, Smash Director Sakurai will be presenting Minecraft Live 2020, which will detail Steve's, and the other characters, play styles and an announce date.

This has been James with Game Fix. Game on everybody!
