The Witcher III Journeys to the Nintendo Switch

It had been widely speculated around last year if CD Projekt RED had any interest in bringing any titles to the Nintendo Switch. On June 5th, Geralt voice actor Doug Cockle intensified those rumors by responding to a tweet that featured a doctored image of The Witcher III as it may appear as a Switch copy.

Well, today at Nintendo's E3 press conference, it's been officially confirmed that the smash hit of 2015 will be Nintendo Switch bound at some point in 2019. Sure, it's an older game, but The Witcher is an incredibly massive title.

This is fascinating, as many companies withheld their enthusiasm about the less powerful Nintendo console and adopting a "wait and see" mentality. Near several years later, the Switch has been a rousing success. Granted, this follows the line of older games appearing on it, but recent releases like Mortal Kombat 11 and the upcoming Doom Eternal goes to show that as long as there is a successful product, companies are more than willing to take extra considerations to get a game onto a platform. The title will come with the base game, as well as the expansions.
