343 Announces A Delay To Halo Infinite's Forge Mode

Halo Infinite's development has certainly been troubled, but its release was met with considerable praise, as fans have enjoyed the multiplayer. Many pundits have labeled it as the best game in the series. No doubt, the pandemic has made production for many a company more than an arduous task, and Halo Infinite ended up being delayed an entire year.

The latest news will not make many happy, as 343 revealed that plans for their seasonal roadmap will be pushed back further than scheduled to ensure that it's properly polished. This includes the much anticipated Forge and campaign co-op. In a tweet, Head of Creative of 343 Joseph Staten explained more time was needed, despite the modes being ready by January.

Hey folks. In November, I said we'd have a #HaloInfinite update on our Seasonal roadmap, Co-Op, and Forge in January. We need more time to finalize our plans so what we share is something you can rely on. This work is my top priority, and we'll have an update as soon as we can.

343 stated that Halo Infinite's roadmap was to include modes as part of seasonal packages back in August. Modes like campaign co-op and the map editor Forge would be in following seasons. A recent update fixed issues regarding BTB (Big Team Battle) matchmaking, a timetable for when Co-Op and Forge will be ready is uncertain, or if both modes will be available at the same time.
