All Elite Wrestling Enters Relationship With Owen Hart Foundation, May Appear In AEW Video Game

All Elite Wrestling has released a statement announcing they have began a working partnership with the Owen Hart Foundation, a non-profit charity organization that provides opportunities for in-need individuals and and drives such as scholarships, food programs, housing, and Christmas giveaways. The Owen Hart Organization was started by widow Martha Hart in December of 2000, following the tragic death of the 34 year old Canadian pro wrestler in 1999 at WWF's Over The Edge PPV (which controversially continued) and has become an active participant in carrying out his legacy.

"This collaboration includes launching the annual Owen Hart Cup Tournament within AEW, which will see the winner receive a Cup known as “The Owen,” as well as the production and distribution of unique and original Owen Hart merchandise, including specified retail goods as well as the upcoming AEW console video game."

Yukes, a veteran developer for WWE games, confirmed it was working on a "Best In Class" console title for All Elite Wrestling, and if Owen Hart is included, it will mark the first time his likeness has been used in a wrestling video game since 1999's WWF Attitude.

“AEW’s relationship with the Hart family dates back to our inaugural pay-per-view event, Double or Nothing in 2019, and Owen’s influence is still felt today,” said Tony Khan, AEW CEO, GM and Head of Creative. “To extend his memory and his legacy even further through this agreement is a powerful and meaningful moment for the entire wrestling community.”
