Bayonetta 3 Status: "...Not Only Exists, But Is Progressing Well"

Nintendo's E3 2021 presentation has come and gone. Amidst its announcements and reveals, some projects remained no-shows and details continue to be murky regarding their future. Among absent trailers or updates for a new No More Heroes, from Suda51 (Goichi Suda of Grasshopper Studios) and still nothing to report on Metroid Prime 4, there was another notable absence. Platinum Games' signature bullet witch Bayonetta.

Since being initially teased back in 2017, it's been eerily quiet on the front regarding Bayonetta 3. Series director, and individual with one the fastest block buttons on Twitter, Hideki Kamiya expressed his frustration with fans constantly asking about the progress of the game. Never hesitant to share how he really feels, Kamiya unleashed onto social media a fiery tirade for people asking "When's Bayo?".

"You may get frustrated or angry if the information you want isn't disclosed ... "Get information quickly" "Show me something" I understand this ... But "Isn't development stopped?" "You made a mistake" Negative delusions that are not based on such facts are nothing but annoying pollution ..."
Regarding Beyo 3, I, the general manager of Beyo development, sent out information on the official account, saying that "development is going well" over and over again, while taking the risk of not getting permission from the publisher Nintendo. I'm doing ... That's why the guy who says "Tell me if you're developing" is a human trash can waiting with your mouth open on the leftover belt conveyor ...
Outspoken as always, his frustration is reasonable with  expectations of an anticipated game from a very dedicated fanbase. Nintendo representatives have come forth with mild info about Bayonetta 3 in a video interview with GameSpot's Tammor Hussain. According to Video Games Chronicle, Nintendo of America’s senior product marketing manager Bill Trinen and senior director of localisation Nate Bihldorff stated when asked, "Where's Bayonetta 3? Does it still exist?" after the action game no-showed Nintendo's E3 2021.
"It definitely still exists, Bihldorf replied. "I can confirm it."
"I will even go one further and say not only does it exist, but it’s progressing well." Trinen added. "We like to show things whenever we’re ready to show them, and certainly we like to show things when the developer’s ready to show them. So we didn’t have it at E3, but stay tuned."
There you have it regarding an update. Like most projects for the Switch, there will be ambiguity about whether of not titles that are far from their teaser date to expectations of a release date if they will be postponed until the next incarnation of the Nintendo Switch. Best leave details ambiguous, as there can seldom feel a need to rush games.
Bayonetta 2 was originally a Wii U exclusive release in 2014 to critical acclaim, and was ported to the Switch in 2018.
