Street Fighter 6 has been a wildly successful release for Capcom. However, content rollout for SF6's seasons has been under scrutiny for the long gaps between news and roster additions. Things are being shaken up, as fans finally have a look at the second guest Fatal Fury character, Mai Shiranui, ahead of her Winter 2025 launch.
While the teaser trailer has no gameplay, the first glimpse of the Shiranui-ryuu Ninjutsu master's character model. She joins the already released lineup from Season 2, M. Bison and Terry Bogard.
As the player character avatar approaches Mai, she's attacked by potential assailants. using some of her techniques and signature attacks she's used in both Fatal Fury and the King of Fighters series, like her Ryuenbuu, Hisshou Ryuenjin, and Hassatsu Shinobi Bachi.
Mai Shiranui is one of SNK's most recognizable characters and is one of SNK's earliest playable female characters, along with Art of Fighting's King. The kunoichi debuted in Fatal Fury 2 and became a love interest to Terry's younger brother Andy Bogard. A good friend and ally to the Hungry Wolves, she's appeared in all but one King of Fighters game (KOF XII), and has guest starred in Koei Tecmo's Dead or Alive series.
Mai's release is planned for early Winter. Street Fighter 6 is currently available for the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PS4, and Steam.
