Capcom Team Adjusts Street Fighter V DLC Roadmap

Starting with some lows and reaching some highs four years into its lifespan, Street Fighter V's final season kicks off. Capcom has made some mild changes to the layout of its last bastion of content. The roll-out for Season 5's Battle Pass, Capcom Pro Tour stages and costumes, and the final character, the new enigmatic Luke was originally scheduled to be released for the fall of 2021. With the changes to the 2022 CPT schedule, adjustments were made to coincide the release of the content with the new tournament dates.

"In the previously released 'Street Fighter 5 Season 5 Roadmap' a new Battle Balance Adjustment and the Capcom Pro Tour 2022 DLC were scheduled to release in Fall 2021," wrote Capcom in their announcement. "However, with Capcom Cup 8 scheduled for Early 2022, this content will be moved to March 2022 to sync with that timeframe.

We apologize for this adjustment to the roadmap and thank you for your continued support."

While the content has been pushed back, it does give Capcom more time to implement the philosophy for what may be planned for Street Fighter 6, it makes sense to not rush out any reveals quite yet. Balance patches are still being rolled out for SFV, and there is still quite a bit of content coming down the pipeline, including crossover costumes for Akuma and Rose, such as Cyber-Akuma and a Ruby Heart skin for the fortune teller. The latter, probably a nod towards the recent grassroots program to re-release Marvel vs Capcom 2, which began with the #FreeMVC2 hashtag started by fighting game super fan Maximillian Dood.

Ken also has an upcoming Falcon skin that comes from Power Stone. Street Fighter V isn't quite out of steam just yet.

Street Fighter V Champion Edition is available for the PlayStation 4 and PC.
