Amazon had an interesting for sale item a little over a week ago. It was an Overwatch themed Nintendo Switch case.

Now I know what you are going to ask. "Why is there a Switch case for a game that's not even on the console?". In due time my friend.

This also lead to massive speculation as to who the new character is going to be for Smash Bros. A lot of rumors were pointing to Tracer, the massively popular Overwatch mascot.

Then, in the beginning of the week, that speculation switched (hehe) over to another character after the rumors of an SNK rep coming to Smash Bros.

With a Nintendo Direct scheduled for today (6 pm EST) there has already been a leak.

Kotaku is reporting that Overwatch is coming to the Nintendo Switch, next month. That's right, we won't have to wait very long for it. Release date is supposed to be October 15th. Which leads us back to your question. This is why there is an Overwatch themed Switch case. The Blizzard hero shooter is getting a Switch release.

With this rumor, does it add any weight to the possibility that Tracer is in fact going to be the newest Smash Bros character? I personally don't see how she would fit into the game. She doesn't really have a move set that could transfer over to a game like Smash Bros

This also poses many many questions. What's it going to look like? The Switch isn't the stronger console on the market, but with games like the newest Doom and even Witcher 3 being released on the console. It shows that the system has capability of doing graphically intense games. On top of that, Overwatch isn't really that graphically intensive. My other question is voice. Nintendo doesn't really have any voice support, other than a mobile app. How is that going to affect stuff like competitive mode? Are people going to be willing to download a mobile app to communicate?

I guess we are going to find out shortly. I will be back here right after the direct to report all the announcements. If Overwatch is coming to the Switch, that's going to be huge.

As always, this has been James with Game Fix. Game on everybody! And I'll see you all later on today for my break down of the Direct.
