According to French web site Actugamer, we will be getting the much speculated Diablo 2 Remaster this year - holiday season to be exact.

Titled "Diablo 2: Resurrected" is supposed to be released forth quarter of 2020, just makes it perfect for a holiday release. Said to be developed by a former Destiny 2 support studio. This is the second (or third if you count WoW Classic) that the Blizzard will release.

Actugamer isn't exactly new at predicting Blizzard releases with successfully predicting the announcements of both Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4

Blizzard has had on and off success with remastering their older titles. Starcraft came out to much rejoice while Warcraft 3:Reforged was hammered with outrage over it just being broken on release. WoW Classic - while not a "remaster" per-say, has also seen much success for Blizzard.

With no word on the much anticipated Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2, and with the current pandemic delaying a lot of 2020 releases, we probably won't see either of those titles until some time next year. The release of Diablo 2: Resurrected could be released as a filler - something that company will put out to hold us over until the other two titles get a release date.

Hopefully the outrage that Warcraft 3: Reforged produced after its release made Blizzard take a step back on their remasters and actually put the time and effect into releasing a more stable game.

That's it for now. This has been James with Game Fix. Game on everybody!
