The first new Disgaea game in six years, Defiance of Destiny is latest entry in Nippon Ichi Software's long-running and critically acclaimed role-playing series. Since gaining mainstream notoriety for its 2003 hit Hour Of Darkness, Disgaea's remained a staple in the tactical turn-based genre with its charming characters and cheeky humor.

Disgaea 6 retains many of the familiar elements of the franchise's battle mechanics, such as lifting and throwing allies and enemies, character creation to build your own personal army, and team attacks. New to Defiance of Destiny is the new protagonist Zed (a very spirited and boastful zombie) and his ability called Super Reincarnation, which serves as both a plot device and a mechanic that can help improve your stats.

New to Disgaea is the ability to raise your levels to 99,999,999 (yes, really) and deal over 10,000,000,000,000,000! Sounds absurd. Sounds impossible to reach those levels? Disgaea 6 introduces auto-battle, so the game can take care of that pesky grinding for you. And with Demonic Intelligence, you can give specifications for which skills are used against what enemies. To even further give fans the incentive to achieve such high feats and levels, there's also High-Speed Mode and Auto-Repeat Mode, which loops the stages over and over, and zips through the hassle.
