Want to bring the experience of the arcade classic Dragon's Lair to your home? Sure, it's available in other formats now, but thanks to New Wave Toys, the Don Bluth cinematic adventure can be immortalized in what is a very fascinating mini arcade that's been put together. 

A successfully launched Kickstarter from October 2019 (hitting $269,797 of its $75,000 goal in one month), this is a 1/16th scale model (about a foot tall). The game runs the original laserdisc ROM on the Daphne emulator and uses a fully functional digital scoreboard, making it very accurate to the arcade experience. The screen display is 4.2 inches with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

Rather than being housed in plastic, the mini cabinet is constructed from premium materials: wood, metal, and plastic. The overlays aren't just sticker replicants, they're actually made of vinyl. Dragon's Lair will boast amplified multi-speaker audio reproduction with volume control, for authenticity. Speaking of authenticity, New Wave even recreated the original LaserDisc Player in 1/6th scale and included a miniature LaserDisc complete with paper sleeve! I loved that, that was a nice touch.

It's capable of HDTV connectivity and USB controller support for New Wave's custom controllers. It's compatible with modern game controllers as well.
