When Sega announced last December that they will be revisiting some of their dormant IPs in a trailer during the 2023 Game Awards like Crazy Taxi, Shinobi, and Golden Axe, there was some speculation that teetered on optimistic for the prospects. The world now has the first look at what appears to be early test footage of Shinobi, along with a peak at the cinematic opening sequence. This comes courtesy of Twitter/X user Ryan From the Bronx (Midori):
An early version of the opening movie and gameplay sequences for the upcoming Shinobi title currently in development.
LizardCube, known for the work on the revival of Wonder Boy and Streets of Rage 4, will serve as developers. According to a thread on Reddit, the footage is speculated to be from around 2022 and leaker Midori has been sitting on the information for quite some time. No details about what platforms this new Shinobi title will be available for, more details to come. It sports the same distinct style of LizardCube's previous works, and the gameplay resembles a faster Shinobi 3.
