Hasbro Uploads First Season Of Transformers G1 Free On YouTube

The Transformers are gearing up for a busy 2022. After the news of the latest film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (a sequel to 2018's Bumblebee), and the 35th anniversary recent release of the 1986 animated movie now in 4K, Hasbro is refreshing its rich history of the franchise.

Courtesy of Hasbro Pulse, you can now watch the original series, known as Transformers Generation 1, as per the toy line, on their YouTube page playlist. The orignal animated series ran on U.S. syndication from September 17 1984 to November 11 1987, spanning three seasons and a three episode "season four" that was more based on the Headmasters, concluding the Autobots' victory and restoration of Cybertron.

While the franchise continued to produce television series throughout the late 80's and early 90's that's vastly different from the American version of the show. Transformers: Headmasters, Transformers: SuperGod Masterforce, and Transformers: Victory, along with a long line of manga, follows the same continuity and some notable Autobots like Wheeljack and Ironhide (the latter was resurrected), were not aired in the United States. Rather, Transformers "Generation 2" was certain Generation 1 episodes repackaged and accompanied by added 3D effects during the episodes. It wouldn't until the computer animated cartoon Beast Wars: Transformers in 1996 would the series return in a new form.

Relive season 1 of Transformers Generation on YouTube today.
