Indiana Jones Game Teaser Trailer Revealed By Bethesda And Machine Gun Games

Along with news of a new Indiana Jones movie in the works, fans of the treasure seeking archeologist will be interested in learning that a new video game is now a part of the plans for Microsoft's newly acquired studio Bethesda. A trailer was posted from Lucasfilms Games, panning over compasses, a map, books, and a journal before finally highlighting his signature whip and hat.

Machine Gun Games, the staff behind the Wolfenstein series, will work on the Indy game along with LucasFilms on a completely original story.

"...Lucasfilm Games announced today that a new Indiana Jones game will be swinging our way, being developed by the award-winning studio, MachineGames, and executive produced by game industry icon Todd Howard of Bethesda Games Studios. The game will tell a wholly original, standalone tale set at the height of the career of the famed adventurer."

With the $7.5 billion dollar purchase of Bethesda's parent company ZeniMax back in September 2020, this Indiana Jones game will likely be an Xbox exclusive. Time will clarify that, as Bethesda's partnership does have rights that means some properties may still be outsourced. Ghostwire: Tokyo, for example will still be honored as a PlayStation 5 platform exclusive.

A release date has not been give yet. We'll stay dialed in as this develops. What do you say, what does an Indiana Jones game do for the Xbox brand?
