While there hasn't been and official announcement, there are rumors that Google will be launching it's own streaming-based gaming service.  Currently code named "Yeti", there is still speculation if it will be a console for streaming to Chromecast compatible devices or if it will be a stand-alone console.  In 2014 the Nexus (pictured below) was released by none other than...GOOGLE

I know it was only four years ago, but I think the technology has improved enough to make this feasible.  The big drawback of streaming consoles so far has been the lack of graphic power and access to AAA titles.  There are definitely a lot of companies in this space.  PS Now, GeForce Now, Gamefly, Parsec, and Liquid Sky would all be competitors.  That being said I think that Google will learn from their mistakes and make a successful...whatever this thing will be.
