The early speculations of the next generation have been underway, and it looks like Sony takes a major opportunity to reveal what looks like seamless, if not nonexistent, loading times for its next gen console.
Using Insomniac's recently released Spider-Man, the loading times of the cities are put to the test, the next generation hardware loads at nearly ten times the speed.
The abolishing of loading times have been talked about since the beginning of last generation, but the PS4 and the XBox One underperformed from a hardware perspective. This could be pretty juicy if the next gen hardware is capable of doing this. To run Spider-Man smoothly is one thing, but will a beefing up of RAM on new open world games with large scale cities or environments developed for it fare as well? And has Sony thrown this out too soon to give Microsoft a chance to reshuffle their cards?
