New Hero, Ramattra, To Join Overwatch 2 To Join The Playable Ranks In December

Logging in 25 million players in its launch month, Overwatch 2 has certainly seen unprecedented success, and it's soon to be including its newest hero for the second season of the game so far. Ramattra, a character tied to the series' lore for the last several years now, will be added to the roster, becoming Overwatch's eleventh tank hero, as his origin story was revealed following the conclusion of the Overwatch League Grand Finals.

Suffer as I have

Originally a war machine, Ramattra shed his munitions for a shield to protect his people by promoting peace and tranquility. His ideals weren’t far removed from his fellow Shambli monk, Zenyatta. However, Ramattra’s story is one of hardships, trauma, and a magnified view of humanity’s harsh realities.

Harmony was replaced by dissonance, and Ramattra began to approach his convictions from a more pragmatic angle—justifying any means necessary to defend his fellow omnics. As the leader of Null Sector, Ramattra boasts incredible support from his people, and he is primed to impose his philosophies on our world.

The second season of Overwatch begins December 6th. It's not known whether Ramattra will be unlocked via participating in competitive play, similar to how Kiriko was unlocked, or via battle pass. More information may be available in the coming days and weeks.

Overwatch 2 is currently available as free-to-play for the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows.
