New Tekken Anime Series 'Tekken: Bloodline', Coming To Netflix

While the time table on any information regarding Tekken 8 may be a ways away, fans have something to look forward to from the competitors of the King Of The Iron Fist Tournament. A new adaptation titled Tekken: Bloodlines will be coming to Netflix, recanting the events following the Mishima family, the path of destruction that befalls young Jin Kazama, whose mother, Jun Kazama, was killed by the hands of Ogre, the God of Fight.

"Power is everything." Jin Kazama learned the family self-defense arts, Kazama-Style Traditional Martial Arts, from his mother at an early age. Even so, he was powerless when a monstrous evil suddenly appeared, destroying everything dear to him, changing his life forever. Angry at himself for being unable to stop it, Jin vowed revenge and sought absolute power to exact it. His quest will lead to the ultimate battle on a global stage — The King of Iron Fist Tournament.

It's interesting that despite this recanting the origin story of Jin, who has been one of the Tekken protagonists since 1998's Tekken 3, new characters like Leroy Smith, the Wing Chun practitioner who debuted in Tekken 7's third season pass, are spotted in this trailer. This will be the first animated series based on Bandai Namco's 3D fighter, and the latest adaptation since 2011's computer-animated movie Tekken: Blood Vengeance.
