The big news PlayStation 5 fans have been waiting to hear has come to fruition regarding the PlayStation Portal. In a new update, along with some audio feature adjustments, the Portal will be able to support cloud streaming for a select number of PS5 games.
"PlayStation Plus Premium members will be able to participate in a beta for cloud streaming on PS Portal, allowing select PS5 games in the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog to be streamed directly from our servers, even without a PS5 console," the statement from PlayStationBlog.com reads. "Since Cloud Streaming (Beta) on PS Portal is still an experimental offering, the features available during the beta period may change over time and may not reflect the final experience."

Released last year, the Portal was an ambitious piece of hardware designed to maximize the most out of the PS5. Being tethered to console may have been viewed as a downer, but the peripheral has become the most successful PlayStation 5 accessory thus far.
