Nintendo never does E3. They always do a direct, and the last few E3 Directs have been really good with setting the company, and the fans up, for what to expect in the coming year and beyond. This one was no exception.

Lets get started. Before we get into the games and release dates, I want to get Super Smash Bros Ultimate out of the way. So lets do it.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate

With Dragon Quest 11 being released on the Switch very soon, it's not so surprising that the first character announced is Hero from Dragon Quest 11. Who is also bringing some friends. Now they didn't say if these other characters are Echo fighters or just color variants of Hero him self.

Hero is getting a "Summer 2019" release date. I am honestly expecting him in late July\early August.

I swear if "Puff Puff" isn't his ultimate move I will riot.

The second character is totally left field, and falls into line with what Sakurai said during development.

Banjo has entered the arena! I think this is a great addition to the Smash line up, and out of left field since Rare is owned by Microsoft now, who has had Banjo games on the Xbox 360 console.

Banjo and his pal Kazooie will be out in the Fall of 2019.

Now for the rest of this jam packed E3 Direct.

Nintendo First Party

Nintendo brought their A game in regards to first party titles. While we didn't get anything on Metroid Prime 4, we did get a little surprise announcement.

That's right, a full sequel to the 2017 Game of the Year, Breath of the Wild. While this teaser was brief, and didn't show us anything, it did set up what appears to be the villain of the new game. It also shows Link and Zelda exploring what appears to be a dungeon. Maybe showing us that the sequel is going to go back to the traditional dungeon system of the older games. What we do know is that it's in development and they promised that they are going to show us more in the future.

The next game had some good news and some bad news. Animal Crossing: New Horizons got a new trailer that shows the basics of the what we can expect in the game. The bad news is it got delayed until March 20, 2020. But it is coming so all you Animal Crossing fans can calm down now.

We got a release date for Link's Awakening. September 20th of this year. We also got a new feature to look forward too. Through out the game you will earn different "chambers", using these "chambers" you can create your own customized dungeon to explore for new rewards. It's sort of Mario Maker-ish, but built into the game. The game mode will be hosted by Dampe the gravedigger.

That wasn't all though. Nintendo even gave us an actual gameplay trailer and even showed off the new dungeon maker mode.

We got more info on Luigi's Mansion 3. The game is going to include a couch co-op mode and an online mode.

Couch co-op has one player controlling Luigi and the second player controlling "Gooigi". Gooigi comes with some perks though, like the ability to walk across spikes and through gates. However, don't have him touch water or he melts.

The online co-op mode is the "ScareScraper". It pits you and 7 of your friends in a hunt to find the hidden Toads scattered through out different floors of the hotel. Find all the Toads and you move on. With levels getting increasingly more difficult as you continue on.

Daemon X Machina got a new story focused trailer and a release date, September 13th.

I still don't know how I feel about this game. I played the demo last year and wasn't too impressed with it. I hope they took the player feedback and changed a few things. It doess look pretty though.

We got yet another trailer for Fire Emblem: Three Houses. This new trailer focuses on the heroes 5 years later. Your choice on what house you align yourself with sets the stage on who will you will be fighting for, and against.

We are getting another Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. This time its Tokyo 2020 and this game features 4 new events. The gang can now partake in events like Skateboarding, Karate, Surfing, and Sport Climbing. Plus there is a large collection of classic events returning.

And finally, from the first party, we got a teaser that wasn't expected at all. After 9 years we are finally getting the sequel that fans have been asking for.

Travis Touchdown is back in a sequel that is 9 years in the making. Set to be released "some time in 2020".

That's it for the first party, now onto the 3rd party support.

Nintendo Third Party

First up is a game that no body really expected to be released on the Switch. Winner of over 250 Game of the Year awards. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition. You can read Mike's entire break down of this right here.

Platinum Games released the newest trailer to its Switch exclusive game, Astral Chain. The trailer goes a little deeper into the story line, and is just plain weird. I expect nothing else from Platinum Games.

Astral Chain is set to be released August 30th.

The Switch is getting a follow up to a beloved jRPG classic that never left Japan. Seiken Densetsu 3 or Trials of Mana for us Westerners, is finally getting an English translation.

Today we will be able to download the Collection of Mana. A retro collection that includes; Final Fantasy Adventure from the Game Boy, Secret of Mana from the SNES, and Trials of Mana in its English-language debut.

The bundle costs $39.99 and is out right now. Go, download it. These games are amazing.

But wait! We aren't done yet.

That's right. Trails of Mana is getting a 3D remake in early 2020.

Sticking with Square for a minute. We got another trailer for Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition. Man that is a mouth full...

I will be buying this game again.

We are getting a new Contra game. No, I did not go insane. Contra Rogue Corps is a new Contra adventure. This run and gun game is going to have both single and online multiplayer with up to 4-players running and gunning. Plus its being released September 24th.

While the game looks fun, it's not visually impressive. To be blunt, it looks like a PS2 title. I mean come on Konami, you can do better than this no? They also showed the Contra Anniversary Collection, which actually looks good and is out right now.

Resident Evil's 5 & 6 are making their way to the Switch. The Switch almost has the entire RE series on it. Just a few more titles and it will be complete.

Both games are due out in the fall.

This winter the Nintendo Switch is getting a remake of the Sega Classic Panzer Dragoon. It features improved controls and graphics.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order got another trailer.

We are very close to the July 19th release date. I cannot wait to get my hands on this title.

The Netflix Dark Crystal series is getting a tactics style game for the Nintendo Switch. The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics is a Claymation-style tactic game, in the vein of Fire Emblem and is set to be released this year.

John Romero has a new game coming. Romero, creator of Wolfenstein, DOOM, and Quake who is also a co-founder of id Software is developing this game under his "Romero Games" studio. While the game is being made by Romero Games it's being published by Paradox Interactive.

Empire of Sin is set in 1920s Chicago. The game has players shaping up their own organized crime empire as one of the 14 "bosses" who own gangland Chicago. Combat will be turn based and tactical. So grab your tommy gun and put on your favorite fedora, cause you have territories to conquer and mobsters to mow down when Empire of Sin is released in the Spring of 2020.

Finally Nintendo finished the Direct with a show case of everything that I touched on here, and a few things that I didn't.

I am weirdly excited for Catan. I love the board game, and I think given how the Switch is. This game is going to do massively well on the little portable.

Wow, that's it everybody. Man this was a long one. What are you guys most excited for? Did this E3 make you want to buy a Switch? Let us know down below.
