Nintendo Is Allegedly Making Refunds Difficult For Customers Of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Since the release of the latest main entries in the Pokemon series, Scarlet & Violet, the player numbers and engagement have remained incredibly high for Nintendo Switch players. This is in spite of the many glitches and bugs the games have suffered from after its November 18 launch date.

A lot of the player base has muscled through the game's performance issues, the bugs, graphical hiccups, and clipping have run rampant on social media, and for a good number of people, this has left the game unplayable.

This has led to a good number of fans requesting refunds for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, citing its instability. While the demands have been met with little hassle, Nintendo (who has not addressed Scarlet & Violet's glitches as of this writing) has made the process pretty difficult for frustrated customers in certain regions. A player from the European region, Twitter handle @Skeffi_, cited their experience with Nintendo customer service and being denied a refund.

Nintendo has always been a stingy company regarding their refund policy, so it is impressive to see some issues being offered to those who ask. Whether or not The Pokemon Company, Game Freak, or Nintendo will actively address these performance issues in a statement or a patch update will remain to be seen. The Nintendo Switch is aging hardware that's only getting older, a lot of what Scarlet & Violet is trying to do with multiplayer is likely pushing the Tegra X1 chips the console is powered by to their limits. It's Nintendo and Pokemon. When it's successful, it means everything is okay.
