Nintendo Japan Releases Mario Strikers Battle League Gameplay Trailer

Mario Strikers Battle League is the return of the fast-paced soccer series that's heading to the Nintendo Switch in a little over month, and a trailer has been released, featuring nearly five minutes of demo play that showcases the action and abilities, as well as character attributes that can be modified through equipping gear.

You can select one of a handful of Mario franchise characters, each with their own skills and feats, such as offensive focused attacker types, powerful heavies, and defensive style players that affect how they play on both sides of the field. Alongside the universal item power-ups like red and green shells, aggressive tactics like tripping and shoulder tackles can knock the ball lose and gain an advantage.

Generally, these trailers are localized, but there are no subtitles available.

Developed by Canadian studio Next-Level Games (Punch-Out!!, Luigi's Mansion 3), who were officially purchased by Nintendo in January of 2021, the original Super Mario Strikers was released on the GameCube in 2005. A sequel, Mario Strikers Charged, was released on the Nintendo Wii two years later.

Mario Strikers Battle League is scheduled for a worldwide release June 10, 2022 for the Nintendo Switch
