Red Dead Online To Be Sold Separately In December

Held back on getting into Rockstar's outlaw frontier trailblazer but wish to forego the offline single player experience? You'll no longer need a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 in order to play Red Dead Online. Coming next month, digital copies of the online mode will be its own standalone game coming to the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Launcher, Epic Games Store and Steam on December 1st.

All of the current content updates will be available for Red Dead Online. The offer for the online mode starts at $4.99 (75% off the initial retail price) until February 15th 2021. Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus are still required to play on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, respectively. PS4 and Xbox One copies are playable via backward compatibility on the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X.

Next week, Red Dead Online's update will offer more details on the Bounty Hunters Role expansion. More criminals will be added, along with robust equipment and skills included to unlock. Take down the frontier’s current crop of notorious reprobates. Meet up with the Legendary Bounty Hunter in the town of Rhodes to procure a Bounty Hunter License and get started. All the Bounty Hunter missions completed will award double XP!

The new Red Dead Online standalone with require 123gb of disc space. The single player mode will be available to purchase separately.
