RUMOR: PlayStation All-Stars Battle 2 To Be In Development Lead By Capcom?

Word around the rumor mill is that a PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale 2 has been allegedly in development with the eye of making a casual friendly arena brawler wit the goal of being an Esports viable game, seeking assistance with Capcom's Division 2 staff, team behind Street Fighter. The source was speculated by Dexerto France that the project is planned to be a launch title for the PlayStation 5 some time in 2020.

Sony's Playstation All-stars Battle Royale hit the console in 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and the Vita that was developed by SuperBot Ent. and SCE Santa Monica Studio. It garnered a mixed reception form players and critics, citing the fun gameplay, but thin on content. In 2018, its servers were shut down and questions of a follow-up were in doubts, as sluggish sales seemed to not garner interest.

The speculated roster is said to feature a collaboration of characters from Sony's intellectual properties like Kratos, Nathan Drake, and Aloy along side Capcom's heroes Ryu, Chun Li, and Dante. The full list of names to allegedly be included:

  • Nathan Drake
  • Kratos
  • Sackboy
  • Ratchet & Clank
  • Jak & Daxter
  • Spider-Man
  • Aloy (Horizon)
  • Helghast (Killzone)
  • Crash Bandicoot
  • Spyro
  • Tomb Raider (Tomb Raider Legend)
  • Jill Valentine
  • Sir Daniel Fortesque
  • Kat
  • Dante
  • Parappa The Rapper
  • Ellie (Last of Us)
  • Delsin Rowe (inFamous)
  • Cloud (FF7 Remake)
  • Solid Snake
  • Ryu
  • Chun-Li

It's also been speculated that with the recent success of Capcom's Pro Tour and increasing Street Fighter V sales, Capcom may be interested in developing another fighting game after the lackluster Marvel vs Capcom Infinite failed to impress.
