The official Sonic the Hedgehog account tweeted this morning that we're in for some Sonic news this week! 

On Thursday, May 27, tune in at 12:00 pm ET (9:00 am PT) "for a first look at some of the projects, partnerships, and events for our #Sonic30th celebration!" 

You can watch the announcements on YouTube or Twitch. 

There's no official word yet on what Thursday's presentation will show, but many assume we'll have some news in the form of a new collection of previous games available for consoles. 

Personally I'd love to see Sega take a page from The Pokémon Company's 25th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise and GIVE US SOME MERCH! What announcements are you hoping for as Sonic hits the big 3-0 this year?
