Paramount Pictures today released the title teaser for the next Sonic movie, appropriately named Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Mark your calendars for April 22, 2022! Hopefully theatergoing will be more normal a year from now...

Even though the title announcement was just 10 seconds long, it still had a handful of Easter eggs packed in. 

• The iconic music from Emerald Hill Zone (Sonic the Hedgehog 2 video game) made its way into this title trailer.
• An orange blur speeds by on the screen, which can be referenced to Tails using a spin dash in the video game. 
• If the Tails blur is supposed to be the character rushing by on-screen, then it's a nice nod to the spin dash attack which made its debut in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 video game (referred to as the Super Dash Attack).
  

In other Sonic movie news, rumors started floating around the internet just this week that Jason Momoa has been asked to provide the voice of Knuckles in the movie. Knuckles the echidna did not make his debut in the video games until Sonic the Hedgehog 3, but the Sonic & Knuckles game, which has a lock-on cartridge feature, has the ability to place Knuckles in the Sonic 2 game and world.
