Square Enix Plans To Announce Final Fantasy VII News Next Month

Next month will be the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII. In wake of this, series director Tetsuya Nomura teased some upcoming content will be rolled out, as reported by RPGSite. During a promotion live stream for the Final Fantasy VII battle royale spin-off The First Soldier, coming to mobile devices, the Kingdom Hearts producer spoke about some potential FFVII related updates being along the way.

"Next month we're planning to publish information related to VII's 25th anniversary", spoke Nomura. "I wonder how far I'm allowed to share about it [right now], next month we will publish various things."

While fans of the critically acclaimed Final Fantasy VII Remake have been anticipating news and any updates regarding the next installment of this episodic refresher of 1997's smash role-playing game, odds could be 50/50 on whether it can be confirmed to happen. 

Released April 10 2020, the Final Fantasy Remake brings the story fans have come to know with a distinct take of the battle system and some very notable core twists (and changes) to the narrative. It's unknown how many episodes will make up this Remake. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is an enhanced upgrade that provides a handful of extras, such as enhanced visuals, quality of life gameplay adjustments, and Dualsense compatibility for the PlayStation. The special episode, INTERmission, starring the Materia ninja thief Yuffie Kisaragi, which offers a new story arc.

There could also be some new regarding Final Fantasy XIV on the way, as producer Naoki Yoshia stated that new regarding that project may be coming this spring. Whenever Square Enix needs some good news, summon Final Fantasy.
