The first official trailer for the newest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been dropped, returning the Heroes in a Half-shell to the big screen for the first time since 2016. With a star-studded cast, brilliant animation, and the directorial debut of Jeff Rowe (former writer on the Disney animated series Gravity Falls, and co-directed Sony's The Mitchells Vs The Machines), this hits theaters this summer.
Seth Rogen was on board to produce the film, along with James Weaver and Evan Goldberg through their company Point Grey Pictures. This will be the second CGI animated full-length feature movie since 2007's TMNT, which did decent at the box office, but wa met with middling reviews. For the first time in the franchise, Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael will be voiced by teenagers (instead of talent like Jason Biggs and Seth Green, adults who LOOK like teenagers). The lineup of the cast:
Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo
Micah Abbey as Donatello
Shamon Brown Jr. as Michelangelo
Brady Noon as Raphael
Jackie Chan as Master Splinter
Ayo Edibiri as April O'Neil
Seth Rogen as Bebop
John Cena as Rocksteady
Hannibal Burress as Genghis Frog
Rose Byrne as Leatherhead
Ice Cube as Superfly
Post Malone as Ray Fillet
Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko
Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom
Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut
Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is scheduled to hit theaters August 4th, 2023.
