With the release of Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition coming out very soon. Square also surprised us with another Dragon Quest announcement.

The first three games in the series are getting a release on the Nintendo Switch. These versions are not remakes, instead opting for the mobile remasters that were released a few years ago. The mobile games aren't actually all that bad, compared to other mobile versions (looking at you Final Fantasy VI).

All three games are going to be digital, unlike the physical release that Japan is getting.

Dragon Quest is going to be $4.99, Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line is going to cost $6.49, and Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation is going to cost $12.49.

It's not known at this time if there is going to be a bundle with all three games.

Here is the Japanese announcement trailer where you can see actual game play of the the three games.

September 27th is when everything is release. It should be called "Dragon Quest Day".
