The Yakuza Series Coming to Xbox via Game Pass

For the first time since the series' inception, Sega's long-running and critically acclaimed Yakuza series will finally make its way to an Xbox console via Game Pass. The announcement was made at XO19 in London. The following is a part of an official press release from Jon Riesenbach, Junior Producer and Jonathon Stebel, Communications Manager from Sega of America:

"We’re happy to announce that SEGA / Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Yakuza series is headed to Xbox One and Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2  (the first three titles in the series, chronologically) will be available on the Microsoft Store and with Xbox Game Pass for Console and Xbox Game Pass for PC (Beta) in early 2020!"

The Yakuza series follows the tale of crime syndicate member Kiryu Kazama in various conflicts that entwine, murder, betrayal, and honor. Since debuting on the PlayStation 2 in 2005, the Yakuza has been widely revered and gained a strong fan following for its storytelling, solid gameplay, and rich, immersive open world, where you can spend a great deal time in karaoke bars or taking up side jobs as extra quests. The remake of the original, Yakuza Kiwami, was released in 2017. The next installment, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, is the latest entry, and changes the combat from a brawling action game to a turn-based RPG.

Yakuza Zero, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 arrives via Xbox Game Pass in early 2020
