Xbox A New Hire To Aid In More Future Studio Acquisitions

Some more studio purchase talks and new is afoot, as Xbox is not done looking for acquisitions. Even with the blockbuster purchase of Bethesda's parent company ZeniMax Media, giving Microsoft the rights to properties such as Doom, The Evil Within, the highly anticipated Starfield, ON TOP of the ownership of Activision Blizzard earlier this year, Xbox continues to broaden their internal development of exclusive games and company purchases.

In a report by Video Games Chronicle, Xbox is looking to hire a management team to scout development opportunities and strategies for the brand, according to their listing on their  LinkedIn page, which was published earlier last weekend.

"The Gaming Strategy & Development team serves as the corporate strategy function for Team Xbox. We partner closely with the Gaming Leadership Team to identify and evaluate transformative growth opportunities", the listing reads.

"We are looking for a talented and motivated analyst, with strong analytical and financial skills, to help lead highly visible and impactful projects in partnership with the Gaming Leadership Team. A typical candidate has experience in financial services (investment banking, private equity, etc.), management consulting, corporate finance, or the equivalent."

Microsoft's scope, outside of just buying name brands, is making sure the moves they make fit with the trends that tech is heading. It's a rapidly evolving media, from an investment standpoint, and maintaining strong business acumen is key for a major game development studio. As reported recently, UbiSoft has been in talks about being purchased, mostly as a more substantial financial investment rather than consolidation, so many of these talks will remain paramount throughout the year.
