Xbox Reportedly Developing A Monster Hunter-styled Exclusive For Xbox With Halo Co-Creator

The Xbox brand is working hard and diligently on ensuring it has a robust selection of exclusives and a vast library for Game Pass accessibility. If reports are accurate, it sounds as if they are preparing to shore up with an exclusive title to market. The big acquisitions of ZeniMax and Activision puts some very popular and notable games under their umbrella.

According to reports from website Windows Central and VentureBeat's journalist Jeff Grubb, news verified that Creative Affinity, the studio who aided in development of Halo and Call of Duty in the past, has been developing a Monster Hunter-like exclusive to bring to Game Pass.

In development since 2020 and projected to have a release window between 2023 and 2024, and the project goes under the code name "Project Suerte" ("suerte", in Spanish, means "luck") and it's expected to have an emphasis on multiplayer gameplay and giant boss battles with large creatures. This decision comes after Microsoft decided that Capcom's Monster Hunter series is too expensive to keep to Game Pass (it was one of many titles that left Game Pass last year). There's few other details currently available.

Last year, Certain Affinity had been teasing working on a new IP, and their LinkedIn page had listed openings for jobs for other development opportunities on AAA games, with CEO Max Hoberman stating, “We have been building towards this project for the past few years. We’re thrilled to have signed an agreement to lead development on our most ambitious title to date. This game is our creative vision to lead and our team is exceptionally passionate about it.”
