Respawn's PvP multiplayer shooter is coming to the Nintendo Switch next week with cross-platform support. With season 8 just launching several weeks ago, Switch players will be able to partake in Apex Legends' upcoming Chaos Theory collection event while also cashing in on a plethora of perks and bonuses, like 30 free levels for the battle pass and earning double XP.

Switch launchers will also be given a Pathfinder Legendary Skin (P.A.T.H.) that will be available throughout Season 8.

No-Fill Matchmaking

Among the new additions and balance changes to season 8, Apex Legends will now feature the option to run solo matchmaking. In the lobby, a box can be unchecked that before automatically filled your squad for duos or trios. You now can take on duo/trio teams, should you want to. 

We still strongly believe that, at its best, Apex Legends is a game about teamplay. But we’re launching this No-Fill matchmaking as an option for solo players because we think it gives a lot of creative opportunities for you to play the game your way.

We have some limitations in place for No-Fill matchmaking, because we don’t want it to greatly disrupt the experience or pacing of the game for other players. We only allow six potential No-Fill players in any match, and the feature isn’t available in Ranked.

Solo play could be a creative way to not only get a grasp of the nuances of Apex Legends, it can also serve as a manner to trying out various characters and play styles. Daily and weekly challenges can be completed, and you can enjoy the lore of the game at your own pace.
