Knuckles Mini-series Coming To Paramount Plus

With a third movie confirmed for a December 2024 release, the live action Sonic the Hedgehog universe will see some expansion in the form of an upcoming 6 episode series centered around Knuckles. Taking place between the events of movies Sonic 2 and Sonic 3, Idris Elba reprises his role as the voice of the eponymous Knuckles the Echidna.

The spin-off centers around Knuckles' efforts to train deputy sheriff Wade Whipple (played by Adam Parry) in the ways of the Echidna Warrior. Jeff Fowler, the director of the feature films, will serve as executive producer, along with John Whittington, Neal Mortiz, and Idris Elba. Ben Shwartz and Colleen O'Shaughnessey will return to voice Sonic and Tails, respectively.

Christopher Lloyd is cast as Pachacamac, an elder Echidna that was long thought to have perished during the kidnapping of Sonic's adoptive mother, Longclaw. Comedians Paul Sheer and Rob Huebel have been cast in as of yet undisclosed parts.

Knuckles will air exclusively on Paramount Plus April 26th, 2024.
