PS5 Exclusive Action Game 'Stellar Blade' Officially Confirmed To Be Delayed

It appears that an anticipated PlayStation game will have to wait a little longer to see its official release date. In a PlayStation.Blog post update highlighting next year's anticipated games, Stellar Blade (formerly titled "Project Eve") is slated for a 2024 launch.

Developed by South Korean studio Shift Up, the third person action game never truly received a street date, so perhaps "delay" may be a little strong. Given that a calendar year had passed since its reveal at 2022's State of Play with little to the project's status, this provides some clarification.

Shift Up was founded in 2013 by KyungRip Min and artist Kim Hung Tae, that latter gaining international recognition for his quite stunning female character designs from the 2004 PlayStation 2 role-playing game, Magna Carta: Crimson Stigmata. The studio's first project was the free-to-play mobile RPG Goddess of Victory: NIKKE.

Stellar Blade is their second announced game and their very first console title, with Sony handling all of the publishing rights. Stylized very similarly to the Bayonetta series, Stellar Blade blends exploration with high-speed hack'n slash action focused on combos and read-and-react defensive tactics.

Look for a confirmed release date, likely in the coming weeks and months, exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
