PlayStation's new model comes with state-of-the-art, quality of life choices for customers who may wish to upgrade, or haven't had a chance to grab a PS5 yet. Two enhancements to the PlayStation 5 and its all-digital consoles will roll out, with new designs, larger storage capacity, and different dimensions. Details are as follows, from PlayStationBlog.com:

The PS5 was a hulking beast of a console, this new design (unofficially labeled the "PS5 Slim") has its dimensions noticeably reduced. The two variations weigh 18% and 24%, respectively, and its size is down by 30%. Like the PlayStation 4, it now sports 4 face panels, with the top panels being glossy while the bottom is matte.
Owners of the digital PlayStation 5 will have the option to add a detachable Ultra HD Blu-Ray Disc Drive, which will be sold separately ($79.99USD). This will be released at a later date. Quite a strange decision on Sony's part. The new vertical stand will be sold separately, and it's compatible with all PS5 models.
