Toys 'R Us Plans Major Comeback To Brick And Mortar Retail Stores

Five years after filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy, toy and clothing chain Toys 'R Us begins to roll out its big comeback as a physical retail store. Announced by its parent company WHP Global, the plan to relaunch and expand chains with its partnership with Go! Retail Group, beginning in 2024. This will also include bringing the retail experience to airports and cruises.

We now have over 1,400 stores and e-commerce sites across 31 countries, and as we head into 2024, we are excited to bring Toys"R"Us to consumers everywhere, whether you're visiting one of our stores at Macy's, at our flagships, in an airport, or onboard a cruise ship."

While specific locations have yet to be announced, WHP stated that stores will open in "prime locations" that compliment the Macy's branches. 

In 2019, the company reemerged as Tru Kids and opened several locations in Paramus, New Jersey and Houston, Texas. Like many other industries, the COVID-19 pandemic caused considerable financial losses, leading to these locations being effectively closed in January 2021.
