BREAKING: Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi New Game Teaser Trailer

The high energy fighting series returns. Before Arc System Works' critically acclaimed Dragonball FighterZ, fans of Akira Toriyama's iconic franchise indulged in the previously renowned tournament battling incarnation, Dragonball Budokai and the Tenkaichi series. During the Dragonball Games Battle Hour World Finals, Bandai Namco has announced, much to the surprise and delight to many fans, they will return to the franchise for the first time in 16 years, or at least something that appears to be very similar to it.

Following the original Budokai series (though not a related continuation), which was developed by Spike (now known as Spike Chunsoft, producers of the Daganronpa series, Attack on Titan: Humanity In Chains, and Fire Pro Wrestling World), Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi got its start on the PlayStation 2 in 2005, spanning four games across the PS2, Wii, and PlayStation Portable.

Using a behind-the-back camera perspective, the Budokai Tenkaichi series successfully emulated the fast-paced hand-to-hand combat and ki blasting action the shonen anime and manga series is known for. With its huge rosters, players can select from Dragonball fighters spanning from the original series, Z, and GT.A It's unknown if Spike Chunsoft is involved in the development of this entry. Bandai Namco has stated that it's very early in development.
