The blending of multimedia entertainment is taking quite the step. Live streaming service provider Sling TV announces that they will launch classic arcade games on its platform. According to their press release, they will be partnering up with Play.Works to bring video games that will work simultaneously with live or recorded television, with their new feature "Arcade".
"Arcade is a brand new gaming platform that takes interactive entertainment to the next level," the statement reads. "Subscribers and users can now launch and play games in Arcade while simultaneously enjoying their favorite sports, news and entertainment TV. Arcade is available for SLING TV and Sling Freestream customers.
In addition to offering full screen games, Arcade is the only service to enable customers to play games and watch TV, both live and recorded programming, at the same time. There's something that suits every taste, with a diverse library of classic games brought to SLING by our partners, Play.Works. With new titles added regularly, there's always something fresh and exciting to explore."
Arcade will launch with these ten games:
Wheel of Fortune
Tetris
Sweet Sugar
Solitare Crash
Poker Online
Neon Rider
Pixel Dash
Doodle Jump
Coin Town
Centipede
More games are intended to be added to the platform in the future. For the launch, Arcade will only be available for those who use Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV to access Sling TV. The streaming provider joins Netflix in streaming services that are incorporating mobile games into their platforms, branching out the luxury of what they provide.
