Free Games Update | Nintendo Switch Online - NES, Game Boy

The Nintendo Switch Online Service catalogs will receive some chilling updates for the Nintendo Entertainment System via the Famicom and the Game Boy. This is perfect timing for the Halloween season.

Heading to the Game Boy, the never-ending battle between the forces of good and Dracula continue in Konami's vampire-busting classic, Castlevania Legends. Two additions never seen on the US NES until recent years, the maze adventure game from Intelligent Systems, Devil World. And from Human Entertainment, The Mysterious Murasame Castle.

The games are available to play NOW.

Castlevania Legends (Game Boy) - The third Castlevania game to be released for the Game Boy, and at the time one of the earlier games in the series' lore (before being considered non-canon), you take the role of Sonia Belmont in one of the very first encounters with Dracula. Armed with a whip, battle through five stages, encounter mini-bosses, and acquire hearts to utilize your "Soul Weapon". Originally released in 1997.

The Mysterious Murasame Castle (NES/Famicom) - A top-down adventure game much in the same vein as The Legend of Zelda, take control of Takemaru and race through the castle and four neighboring regions. Defeat the four Castle Lords to obtain the gems, then challenge and vanquish the main antagonist Murasame. Additional lives can be gained by resucing the princesses in each castle and completing mini-games. Originally released in 1986.

Devil World (NES/Famicom) - Developed by the team that brought the world Fire Emblem and designed by Shigeru Miyamoto, Devil World is a Pac-Man-style maze game with co-op capabilities. Control the dragon named Tamagon and attack the "Devil's World" by navigating through the mazes, steering clear of monsters. Breath fire by coming into contact with the crosses and defeat the enemies. After clearing the maze of the dots, gather the four Bibles and seal them to succeed. Be careful, the scrolling maze can squish Tamagon. Originally released in 1984.
