Following the success of Dragonball FighterZ, anime fans have pined for more unique fighters based on their favorite Shonen intellectual properties. That wish seems to be granted, as the long-running manga and anime series Hunter X Hunter will be getting what appears to be a tournament-based fighting game, Hunter X Hunter: Nen Impact.

Development duties will be handled by studio Eighting and Bushiroad Games.

The teaser video doesn't feature any gameplay, but shows off the character models for the series protagonists Gon Freecss, Killua Zoldyck, Kirapika, and Leorio, along with Hunter association ally Isaac Netero and antagonist Hisoka Morow. One can speculate it will be a team-based fighter, similar to the aforementioned Dragonball FighterZ and the Marvel vs Capcom series.  

Written by Yoshihiro Togashi, the author and illustrator of YuYu Hakusho, Hunter X Hunter takes place in a world where the most skilled combatants and warriors can take on elite jobs hunting for rare beasts, secret treasures, or even tracking down individuals. The Hunter X Hunter series has been regularly featured in collaboration/crossover video games like Jump Force and 2014's J-Stars Victory Vs for the PlayStation 3 and Vita.   

Studio Eighting has experience with fighting games, aiding in development of titles like Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of two Worlds, Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars, and two entries in the Bloody Roar series. They also co-developed 2022's DNF Duel, alongside Arc System Works (Guilty Gear, BlazBlue) and Neople. It was celebrated for its attractive character design, easy, approachable gameplay, and robust training system. Bushiroad is known for publishing popular Japanese card battle games like ChaosTCG, Luck & Logic, and Card Fight!! Vanguard. 

No platforms have been announced as of this writing, nor a projected release date. We will stay up to date on this anticipated fighter.
