Konami Offers An Open Beta For A Possible Pro Evolution Soccer 2022

This seemed like it was out of nowhere. With relatively little heads up or notice, Konami launched an open beta test for what appears to be the latest entry in the PES Evolution Soccer series labeled as "New Football Game Online Performance Test", according to their website, along with details on how to sign up for it.

"KONAMI is proud to announce that a new football experience is on its way!
To prepare for its launch, we'll be running an open beta prior to the game's official launch, as described below.

The purpose of this beta test is to evaluate the quality of the online matchmaking and connection to the servers.
Please note that gameplay mechanics, balancing, animations and graphics are all under development and will be improved before the official launch."

The beta launch will allow for Konami to test online functionality and performance issues as they gear for the game's launch at likely some point this year. As E3 approached, Konami was one of the studios who opted out of the digital presentation due to wanting to be more prepared for a more robust display of projects. As Pro Evolution Soccer has grown and remains a very viable source of income through eSports and tournaments.

Konami's football series has made strides in competing with Electronic Arts' FIFA series, signing deals with Italian leagues can go a long way towards expanding its brand. This next iteration is expecting to launch for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and the Xbox One.
