Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Comes With Disclaimers Regarding Racist And Insensitive Content

Much to fan's delight, Capcom has released the complete collection of the turn-based RPG spin-off, the Mega Man Battle Network Collections, which features all ten games. These games were originally released on the Game Boy Advance and throughout the GameCube.

These games, however, come with a warning for players, as some elements have not aged gracefully.

“Capcom values diversity and inclusivity within its games and its community,” states the disclaimer. “Please be aware the games in this collection may contain some cases of insensitive cultural depictions that are presented as originally created to preserve their authenticity.”

Some of these include African-American stereotypes that tells the player, “I pray every morning to my God, and the chicken he provides.” And later during a rap battle, a character named "Whiskey" has dialogue that includes the line, "You just outta da crib, kid! Go suck yo momma’s milk!”

Certainly for its time, and probably easier to address the matter, rather than omitting content from the game. As history has proven, this can upset portions of the community.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection is currently available for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
