Developed and published by GalaxyTrail, Freedom Planet 2 hits digital retailers today on Steam. The home console versions were published by XSeed. Like the first game, originally released in 2014, players take control of three anthropomorhic animal characters in a speedy platform adventure game inspired by Sega Genesis-era action titles. 

Join the heroes of Avalice as they face their greatest challenge yet! An ancient terror has emerged from the depths of the ocean. Merga, a water dragon from Avalice's oldest and deadliest war, has been freed from her crystal prison as a consequence of the Kingdom Stone's destruction. While some similarities remain between the first Freedom Planet and its sequel, Freedom Planet 2 separates itself from the Sonic the Hedgehog games it's taken inspiration from, aiming for a new visual style and gameplay changes. New to this entry is the ability to parry attacks with the new Guard feature, a chance to revive yourself to salvage a close victory.

Explore 24 stages, collect amulets and charms to provide added bonuses and effects for your heroines, or gather Brave Stones to make combat significantly tougher in exchange for higher rewards. Take advantage of Lilac's speed with her Dragon Boost, reach new heights with Carol's Jump Disc or motorcycle, or take a more measured approach with Milla's shield. The all-new playable character Neera won't be left out in the cold, as she can use her powerful Frost Arts to punish foes. 

Freedom Planet 2 is currently available for Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PS4.
