Sony has announced a full PS5 event coming next week. This event is promised to show the launch titles for the next generation of Sony's PlayStation gaming console.

The event is going to be a little more than hours worth of pure video gaming goodness.

Sony's boss, Jim Ryan, said in a blog post today;

That’s why I’m excited to share that we will soon give you a first look at the games you’ll be playing after PlayStation 5 launches this holiday. The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe. Studios, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established, all have been hard at work developing games that will showcase the potential of the hardware.

With E3 being moved to an online event, and with Sony announcing before hand that they weren't even going to be attending E3 anyway. This is going to be our first look at what the PS5 is going to be capable of.

Especially considering that Epic showed off an amazing video of of their newest engine, Unreal Engine 5 that was (supposedly) a playable tech demo that was running off of the PS5 devkit. Afterwards Epic said that the "PS5 SSD architecture is currently more advanced with anything on the PC currently".

We already know some of the 3rd party titles, Fortnite will be making the jump to next gen, along with Destiny 2. Earlier this month, Ubisoft announced that their newest game in the Assassin's Creed franchise - Assassin's Creed Valhalla - will be on the PS5 (and the XS1). As of right now, we have no idea what Sony's internal studios have for us at launch.

We even got a nifty trailer for the event.

Less than a week away we will finally know what the PS5 launch has in store for us.

Even though I am a PC guy. I am still excited to see what Sony has in store for its future.
