BREAKING: Super Mario Bros. Movie First Official Teaser Trailer

As reported last week, the world has finally received their first look at the new Super Mario Bros. movie in action. Produced by Nintendo in collaboration with Illumination (Minions: The Rise of Gru, Sing 2), this will also be the first time everyone has their chance to hear the English voice actors, namely Jack Black's Bowser, Kevin Michael Richardson's Kamek, Keegan Michael Key's Toad, and Chris Pratt's Mario.

Other voice roles yet to be heard as of yet is Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike. The movie is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, head writers of Teen Titans GO! and their feature-length film Teen Titans GO To The Movies. Co-production is also overseen by veteran Nintendo producer Shigeru Miyamoto.

Chris Pratt's Mario portrayal does sound like he's going for a slight Brooklyn accent. It's very faint, and doesn't quite carry the same gravitas as late former professional wrestling personality Captain Lou Albano's performance in the 1989 animated/live action program The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, but not too bad so far.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie appears to be its official title, so no unique subtitles. Without question, if it's a financial success, there will be sequels to look forward to. A release date is also slated for April 7, 2023.
