Genshin Impact developer Hoyoverse has released a new trailer for one of its newest characters in its upcoming 1.4 character banners for their turn-based free-to-play RPG, Honkai Star Rail. While the reveal live stream is a week away, teases and snippets of the characters have already been teased. The two five star additions will be Jing Liu, an ice-based character who follows the Destruction path, who will be a part of the first half, and Topaz, a fire-based Hunt character, in the second half of 1.4. Guinaifen (Fire, Nihility) will be the only four star.

The trailer features Jing Liu having a conversation with Yangqing, the general Jing Yuan's young apprentice, about why they chose to pick up the sword. The discussion gets rather testy, with the highly ambitious Yangqing willing to test his skills against seemingly anyone. The talks end with perhaps a sparring match between the two.

The 1.4 banners come at a very convenient time, as the update patch coincides with Honkai: Star Rail's launch on the PlayStation 5 on October 11th. Jing Liu looks to play a pivotal role in the upcoming story, so along with seeing how her play style and kit meshes with the existing roster, some developments in the plot may be afoot.
