As I reported back in January, sources close to Kotaku were saying that the Sony exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn was getting a PC port later this year.

Today, I am very happy to confirm that Horizon Zero Dawn is in fact getting a PC port later this year. This Summer actually, but no dates have been set as of yet.

The new head of Sony worldwide studios, Herman Hulst, did an interview on the official PlayStation blog and within that interview confirmed that Horizon Zero Dawn is in fact making the jump to the PC platform.

PSB: Speaking of experimentation, there have been rumors of a Horizon Zero Dawn complete edition that might be coming to PC… can you confirm or deny that?
HH: Yes, I can confirm that Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC this summer…. There will be more information coming from Guerrilla, from the new studio directors [Michiel van der Leeuw, JB van Beek, and Angie Smets] pretty soon.

It has not been confirmed on what store front it is coming too - Steam or Epic - but I would imagine that it will be coming to Steam, since it does have the largest PC market share.

While Sony won't be following the MS mold of dual releasing their exclusives on both console and PC, but Herman did said that "he is open to the new ideas and introducing more people to PlayStation". This is corporate speak for "we will see how this does and if it does well, then we will go from there".

Regardless, I am very excited for this game to make the jump to PC. I think it's going to look gorgeous on the PC. It was already a beautiful game on the PS4, but now it's going to be unrestricted on PC.

Let's hope that this is just the beginning.

The fanboys are going manic again over this. Reality is going to hit them like a truck that the platform wars have been dead for 20 years since Sega bowed out of hardware manufacturing. It's much easier to just enjoy video games instead of focusing on "winning".
